Résumé de la communication

In a time-invariant channel, channel estimation is performed at the beginning of the frame and the estimates are used in the remainder of the frame for signal detection or equalization. In a time varying environment such an approach is not sufficient since the channel changes within the frame. In this project, we propose a low complex interpolation technique to adaptively estimate the MIMO-OFDM channel. The adaptive normalized least means square (NLMS) algorithm is used to estimate the pilot-tones in time-varying MIMO-OFDM channels. To achieve the better interpolation performance, the position of pilots is optimized so that we can interpolate the data-carrying channel component with lowest MMSE error. Therefore, by using NLMS algorithms along with the proposed interpolation technique, we can achieve an efficient solution for determining the channel state information (CSI), which can avoid the matrix inversion process and result in a simplified receiver structure. In the second phase of the project, we aim to implement the proposed MIMO-OFDM channel estimation technique by means of DSP and FPGA hardware platform.
