Résumé du colloque

Coordination polymers between α-cyanoacetamide, diamides and dithio-oxamide as ligands and the group (IV) halides as Lewis acids have been prepared. The analytical results and the infrared spectra indicate that on working under similar experimental conditions different types of compounds are obtained which can be explained by considering a coordination number six for the central metal atom. Hydrogen bonding and the steric factors seem to play an important role in forming different types of compounds. On the basis of infrared data the possible coordination through the oxygen or nitrogen has been discussed for different compounds. The facts that some of the compounds decompose without melting by turning black at high temperatures and cannot be sublimed in vacuo have been attributed to their polymeric nature. The products are insoluble in common inert solvents.
