Résumé du colloque

Prolonged treatment with testosterone causes in the thymus of adult male rats a marked involution, less severe than that induced by thyroxine alone; a combined treatment results in a thymolysis approximately equal to the sum of the effect of the separate treatments. Castration returns the thymus to juvenile levels, cancels the thymolytic action of thyroxine and of thyroidectomy (in part). The weight of the adrenals is elevated by thyroxine and depressed by thyroidectomy; the thymus weight is severely depressed by both treatments. The thymolysis caused by thyroxine, by thyroidectomy and by testosterone are distinct events, possibly involving the pituitary-adrenal axis and some thymus-thyroid relationship.
