Résumé du colloque

The lake whitefish, Coregonus Clupeaformis (Mitchill) of Lac la Ronge mature and spawn at the age of 8 years or older. The spawning season lasts from late October to middle of November, and the individuals spawn in alternate years. The age-length relationship based on 1611 whitefish, caught during the years 1948-1954, reveals that the growing season extends from late May to early October, and that whitefish up to age 5 increase in length and weight comparatively faster than the older fish. The lake whitefish attain a fork length of about 17 inches in 10 years. The length-weight relationship for Lac la Ronge whitefish is linear.
