Résumé du colloque

An exact first order theory has been developed on the basis of the Fresnel theory of thin film optics. We will use the theory to derive a few simple equations and show how these equations can be used for the calculation of the optical constants of very thin absorbing films on absorbing substrates. Numerical examples will be given.
