Résumé du colloque

A group of shales, sandstones, grits, and conglomerates from the new roadcut north of the Quebec bridge were studied. The formations are part of the Sillery and are known locally as the Cerny. The shales are massive and are predominantly red with some stains of green indicating reduction. The coarser clastic beds are green, which is the color to be expected in marine sediments. The association of the red beds, presumably the products of accumulation far from shore, with the coarser green beds raises a problem in petrogeny.
