Kenya - an examination of the role of Landsat in land systems analysis. Assessment of seasonal variation in land system interpretability, level of detectability in the land system hierarchy, and tests of mapping accuracy. Brazil - an application of X-band SLAR imagery from the RADAM BRAZIL project in the analysis of river channel morphometry (plan form characteristics) of the Rio Branco and Purus - sinuosity, braiding and meander loop asymmetry. Bolivia - an assessment of the value of Landsat 5 band and 7 imagery in the identification and mapping of saline and saline-alkaline soils in the basin of Cochabamba. Time lapse analysis of saline crust formation. Fiji - the combination of airphoto interpretation techniques with ethno-historical and archeological methods in settlement pattern analysis of the prehistoric and protohistoric periods. The mapping and classification of settlement sites, ceremonial sites, fortifications and field systems. Estimation of prehistoric population levels.
