A class of problems, called generalized induced potential problems, may be formulated. Solutions may be sought in the form of generalized single layer potentials, whose densities satisfy certain linear integral equations. The existence and uniqueness of solutions can be proven, and the convergence of expansions in eigenfunctions, called generalized Poincaré fundamental functions, established.
