Résumé du colloque

Effect of the juvenile hormone (JH) on the morphogenesis of the gonads was studied by means of its analogue methyl farnesoate dichloride (DMF). The regulation of morphogenesis by JH varies profoundly in different tissues, DMF keeping the epidermis at the larval stage, does not influence the gradual differentiation of tissues in the rudiments of gonads throughout the larval development. A two days absence of the JH at the beginning of the last larval instar, when the future development of the imaginal tissues is predetermined, is necessary for the normal course of morphogenesis of the prefollicular tissue. This imaginal character remains latent and is induced by the JH in the ovarian follicular epithelium of adults. At a certain stage the same effector influences various tissues in a different way, and, on the other hand, induces a different gene activity in the same tissue at various developmental stages. DMF was ascertained to be a potent chemosterilant, which if applied to males is transferred to females by copulation and induces the permanent sterility effect.
