Mycosphaerella tassiana, an Ascomycete ubiquitous on dead plant parts in northern altitudes and latitudes, has been grown to maturity in culture. The life cycle of the fungus is described in detail. The type of development of the ascostroma is discussed and illustrated. Both the imperfect and perfect stages of the fungus are described.
