A research program for development of airborne multispectral digital camera imaging methods in environmental analysis and digital elevation modelling/ortho-imaging is presented. Two sensors, a custom-designed multispectral digital camera sensor and the Kodak DCS CIR digital camera have been evaluated in these applications. The custom-designed sensor uses low cost components such as a rotating filter wheel, a PC platform, and a Kodak Megaplus 1.4 1320 x 1035, 8-bit camera.
