This paper concerns with the western sector of the northern boundary of the State of Jammu and Kashmir in India with the Sinkiang region of China. In this region China has claimed over 5000 square miles of territory south of the border of Sinkiang. Pakistan has been in physical control of this region since 1948. After manouvering for a long time China and Pakistan signed an agreement on March 2, 1963, delimiting this boundary.
