A Study of the Total Phosphorous Contents during Post-embryonic Life Cycle of Tribolium confusum Duval
quote

Phosphorous was found to be function of the weight of the larvae except for a probable "palier" in the growth of the element about the end of larval period as earlier observed by Teissier (1931) on Tenebrio molitor and Galleria mellonella and Huot et al. (1959) on Tenebrio molitor. No significant difference between the phosphorous contents of male pupae and female pupae was observed while the female adults showed slightly increased contents of this element over the female adults, probably associated with the latters egg laying function.

A Quantitative Study of the Dietary Requirements of Phosphorous for the Larvae of Tribolium confusum Duval
quote

A suitable basal synthetic diet (containing the least possible contamination of phosphorous) was devised to study quantitative phosphorous requirement at different levels. The optimum level was obtained around 0.33% with slight variations over a wide range from 0.13% to 0.78%. Poor growth was found at 0.08% level while toxic effects were observed above 1.4% level.
