Bangladesh is a society that determines and sanctions certain values and morals as informed by Islam and a heavily male centred culture. The purpose of such sanctions is to maintain the privilege of these dominant positions and control the lives of those disadvantaged by the system. Women are one group disadvantaged by Bangladeshi cultural mores.
