The acquisition, storage, querying, and analysis of data is central to genomics. The scale, diversity, and novelty of data in genomics places demands on database technology that is not met by existing commercial databases or research prototypes. The Know-It-All project is developing a framework for database management systems. KIA serves as a platform providing a range of advanced data models, query languages, and techniques so that individual databases can be quickly customized.
