The Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale (ADAS) is the most often used scale to measure change in many international multicenter trials, and epidemiological studies. Use across countries assumes straight translation and adaptation of the scale. Appropriate translation requires that the scale also be adapted to cultural differences, leaving it otherwise and psychometric properties unaffected. These meaningful problems have not yet received accurate attention.
