The Effect of Parental Holding During Anesthesia Induction

One hundred and thirty-five children between the ages of two and eight years coming for elective surgery in the Day Surgery Department participated in a study in which they were either held by a parent for the induction of anesthesia or were induced in the usual manner with staff but without parents in the room.
