Debates about the normativity of rationality have often not carefully distinguished between the normativity of theoretical rationality and the normativity of practical rationality. I argue that on a fairly common set of views about epistemic normativity, one ought, in general, to be theoretically rational. I discuss why this is so and note that it is not clear whether we are entitled to draw inferences about the normativity of practical rationality from the normativity of theoretical rationality.
