Translation teaching faces an urgent need to address the burgeoning technological changes affecting the norms and practices of many translators in the developed world. As globalization pulls linguistic frontiers closer together, peripheral technologies are extending the reach of human communication. A new culture, with new practices and norms, has sprung up around communication technologies, which in turn have spawned a plethora of innovative translation tools.
