This presentation will review of research on the quality of childrearing by fathers who engage in intimate partner violence (IPV). Only recently have violent men been studied in their role as fathers; those studies will be summarized. The single biggest concern about fathers who engaged in partner abuse is that they also may physically maltreat their children-by engaging in “co-occurring violence.” The studies on this topic will be summarized.
